Progress in Laos-China refinery project delayed

VIENTIANE (Vientiane Times/ANN) – A Lao-Chinese fuel refinery has postponed its production plan for the second time since 2017 due to problems by investors in obtaining capital from China to complete construction.

The refinery, to be operated by the Laos-China Dongyan Petrochemical Co., Ltd., has five Chinese and Lao shareholders, including the Lao State Fuel Company. Construction began in 2014 but progress has been slow.
